About us

Fan Arena creates unique fantasy sports games for broadcasters, publishers and sports leagues. Due to our growth we are looking for a Javascript Developer who is crazy about sports and wants to join us on our journey of delivering innovative fantasy sports games. Our games are played by hundred of thousands of sports fans in Belgium, Europe and the world.

As our lead backend developer, you’re responsible for our fantasy sports platform. You will work directly in a small team with founders (product design & marketing), frontend developer and freelancers. Our ambition is to further scale the company together with you.

We’re looking for a JavaScript developer, who is preferably proficient in both TypeScript and Node.js, with an healthy interest in scalability.

Working at a start-up requires you to be creative and pragmatic as requirements might change fast. You need to communicate quickly and be well-organised.

About you

Are you the entrepreneurial software developer with a passion for sports we’re looking for?

  • Degree in software engineering or similar;
  • Proven experience (min. 2 years) in backend development with Node.js;
  • Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL) is a must, Docker and other cloud scaling software and services is a big plus;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and quickly and report daily;
  • Pro-active, serious and hard-working mindset;
  • Punctual in estimates, deliverables and appointments.
