What is Expected Goal Involvement (xGI)?

Expected goal involvement (xGI) is expected goals (xG) plus expected assists (xA).

It is the total chance quality a player is involved in, as the shooter or as the creator. A high xGI and few actual goals or assists can mean a fantasy return is still likely. A big score on a low xGI is harder to repeat.
