What are Expected Goals (xG)?
Expected goals (xG) measure the chance quality of a shot, on a scale from 0 to 1.
A shot from the six-yard box might be 0.40 xG. A shot from 30 yards might be 0.03. Add a player's shots and you get their xG for the match. Expected points turn that chance, plus the rest of the scoring system, into fantasy points. Expected assists (xA) do the same for chances a player creates.
